One of the greatest benefits to running this magazine on line is the amount of resources I learn about that I would otherwise have no clue about. Lately, I’ve been seeing a ton of stuff that I can use with my daughter who is 11. (If anyone has some great sites / apps / resources for little boys about 8 years old, send them my way! My son is getting slighted, here!)

The website I recently learned about and am having a blast with with my daughter is called FashionPlaytes.com. 

FashionPlaytes provides a safe and fun way for tweens and their moms to design clothes online, create and share their virtual fashion collections with friends and ultimately purchase the clothes that they or their friends design.

 Style-minded Tween girls have made FashionPlaytes the premiere design-your-own-clothing site, and the company has announced new milestones including:

•  over 50,000 tween designers are using the online design studio;
• over 400,000 designs have been created in the last year alone;
• over 650,000 designs have been created since the site launched in 2009;
• the average time-on-site is more than 53 minutes.

Who knew! Any of our dauthers could turn out to be the next Vera Wang… or just have lots of fun stirring up their creative juices and creating their own clothes.
