If your baby is anything like my son, then he or she will put anything into his or her mouth, and when I say anything, I mean ANYTHING! Since my son started teething, I catch him putting all kinds of things in his mouth. Strange things, too, like the dog’s squeaker (yuck!), drawer knobs, the wooden floor molding, and occasionally his pacifier! As a product reviewer for Chic Mom Magazine, I recently had the opportunity to review the Smart Mom’s Teething Bling® pendant. The necklace is chewable! A teething-ring that you can wear around your neck that doubles as fashionable jewelry –... (Read More ...)

When I think of Australian Gold products my mind drifts back to my first job in high school. I worked at a fitness club that had tanning beds and there was a huge display of Australian Gold products that were always the victim of little kids running through the lobby. I spent many hours rearranging that display so the little koala bear in their logo will always remain a familiar face. I received a sample of their new orange mint flavored lip balm in the mail last week and have been using it daily, especially since the change in weather is making my skin extra dry. I love this lip balm –... (Read More ...)

When the seasons change and the weather turns cold, rainy, snowy and WINTERISH…my shoe selection changes (because I am forced to pack away my flip flops).  I live in my boots!  They have to not only be stylish, but durable & WARM!    So, when I had the opportunity to review a pair of “McKenna” Style Boots (“CITY” line) from BOGS, I was curious if they would meet my test of quality, of trendiness and if they would bring my feet the PURE JOY necessary to get me through the next few months of cold rough winter weather. To put it mildly…OH MY BOGS! ... (Read More ...)

We all have them…those loyalty cards saving you 10%, generating custom coupons or accumulating points for free samples.  While we love saving money, getting coupons and free samples…we don’t love the space these cards take up in our wallets and purses. Well, now there’s an App to clear up all the card clutter…the Key Ring Rewards Card App!  This App holds all your reward cards on your smart phone.  You scan the barcode using the camera on your phone.  If no barcode the member number can be manually entered.  Then choose from hundreds of retailers on the App or type the name of your... (Read More ...)

Reviewed by Chic Mom Product Reviewer, Laura Woeste. I knew I was staring at my new best friend after opening the package of chicBuds Fauvette Gold Earbuds.  First of all, the earphones I’ve been currently using have seen better days and anytime an incoming call came in I’ve had to remove the buds so I could talk into the phone. Not only are these snazzy little buds great for listening, but they also have a microphone so you can talk hands-free. I’ve never been big on driving while on my cell, especially with my three kids in the car, but let’s face it – sometimes it’s the... (Read More ...)

Worried about germs affecting your travel plans?  Who likes getting sick when they arrive at their destination?  Especially when they are going on vacation or a business trip?  Being stuck in an airplane is a cesspool for germs.  Think about it, depending on how long your flight is…you’re stuck with coughing, sneezing, hand touching germs until your plane lands. I just learned about a product I tested out on my airplane ride from here to San Diego this past August (when I headed to Blogher).  I definitely didn’t want to get sick when I got there.  So I used NOZIN Nasal... (Read More ...)

The smells of Christmas are in the air.  You know what I am talking about!  Every family has certain things that make them think of this time of year and when you happen upon them, your brain instantly thinks of Christmas trees, presents and (in my opinion) the true reason we celebrate Christmas. I was lucky enough to be introduced to a book that not only gets my kids excited about reading, but offers amazing scents that create a Christmas spirit from the moment you open the book! Mo Smells Christmas by Margaret Hyde and illustrations by Amanda Giacomini arrived at our front door today (sent... (Read More ...)

I remember having to wean my oldest son from breast to bottle when I started working again.  He was six weeks old and it was a difficult transition (mainly for me) and thankfully, he seemed to take to the bottle during the day and breast at night when I was home.  My oldest daughter started formula feeding on a bottle even earlier because I got bad medical advice from a doctor (when I had mastitis), and she seemed to have no problem either.  My youngest daughter transferred from breast straight to a cup with ease and no transitional problems at all.  But, my youngest (of course it’s... (Read More ...)

How can a workout involve to very different things?  To things like "ballet dancing" and "boxing"?       I asked myself those questions when I received this DVD to review (sent to me free of charge for this review/feature).   Both of these sports require discipline, balance, coordination and a lot effort to be good at them.  Plus, both of them involve high intensity workouts, stretches and movements that tone and sculpt your body shape and muscles.  What a concept!  I truly would have never matched the two up…until I tried... (Read More ...)
