The weekend is over. And just like that, back to our normal routines of making lunches and repeatedly saying “go, go, go…we are going to be late!” this morning. Mondays (similar to the first day of school) is a day that can be filled with mixed emotions. I look forward to a quiet house and office for 6 hours a day. I love watching my daughters’ excitement as they enter school again And today when I came home after drop off I sat here and cried. I think in some ways, today highlights two opposing needs. On one hand, I want to be “everything” to my children. ... (Read More ...)
Before I even go into the importance of “me time”, I already know what you are going to say, “I don’t have any extra time”, “You have no idea what my life is like”, etc, etc. I also know that we Moms are beyond busy; the kids, the house, the husband, work, health issues, financial concerns, the PTA, etc. I get it. The Year of Peace Within: How to Make 2012 the Year You Keep the Only Resolution That Really Matters
How many “Happy New Years” did you hear on January 1? How many did you cheerfully toss out? And now that the confetti is swept up and the champagne bottles discarded, how happy are you…really? I’ve never tried any organic body products before so I was excited to try the new and improved pure natural hair care shampoo and conditioner by Jason, as well as Crème de la Shave by Aubrey Organics. I have long, thick hair and I will admit that I’m kind of picky about what I wash my precious locks with. I don’t typically wash my hair every day, so the products that I use need to deliver what they promise. I have used both the Volumizing Lavendar shampoo and Color Protect Henna conditioner on my hair for the past two weeks and have been pleasantly surprised with their performance. First... Until about two years ago, I always thought if you could potentially fit something into your day you should. Even if it inevitably led to misunderstandings and sprints to catch a departing train and headaches and panic over being late. I thought when someone said, “Can you go to the movies Saturday?” that, unless you’d be in another country or giving birth or at a wedding or funeral during the exact time the movie was showing–unless you literally could not go–the answer was yes, you could and therefore you would. I figured out, finally, that that wasn’t always... (Read More ...)
