In honor of Mother’s Day, we are featuring a few key stories on our site.
Check out sweet Chelsea’s tribute to her mom in our Inspiration Corner. All those years of hard work on her mom Jacqui’s part have certainly paid off. This one will bring a tear to your eye. What a delightful young woman Chelsea is evolving into! And how proud and touched her mom will be when she sees Chelsea’s tribute to her.
Our Momager, Christine Martinello’s three children composed a heartfelt poem for her several years ago. It remains one of her favorite reminders of the job she is doing as a mom. See it above.
Our parenting expert, Jody Pawel, reminds us of the broad skills we gain as people by becoming mothers. She also gives us gentle reminders of some universal ways we can get off track as moms – and some tips on how to get back in the driver’s seat.
I just got back from my son’s pre – K Mother’s Day celebration where the lump in my throat was so big, I could barely keep it down. They sang the song ‘Let Them be Little,’ by country singer, Billy Dean. (See lyrics below.) For those of you with young ones, take a listen. When we’re in the trenches, no matter what phase of motherhood we’re are in, we often forget how fleeting it is.
Thank you for visiting chicmommagazine.com, where every day is Mother’s Day. We exist – for you.
Let Them Be Little

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand.
You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute.
How it amazes me you’re changin’ with every blink.
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.
So let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while.
Give ‘em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let ‘em cry, let ‘em giggle,
Let ‘em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
I never felt so much in one little tender touch.
I live for those kisses, your prayers an’ your wishes.
An’ now you’re teachin’ me how only a child can see.
Tonight, while we’re on our knees, all I ask is:
Please, let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let ‘em cry, let ‘em giggle,
Let ‘em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
The so innocent, precious soul:
You turn around, an’ it’s time to let them go.
So let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give ‘em praise,
Give them love every day.
Let ‘em cry, let ‘em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
Let them be little
